Question & Answer

Below you will find answers to some of the most freqeuntly asked questions regarding the Egypt Program.

To stay up-to-date as we approach our journey along The Nile, please join us for an in-person meeting at The Pacific Club on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 6PM to discuss the program and address any further questions.

The charter option currently being reviewed is with Petroleum Air Services (PAS), a Cairo-based Egyptian airline that specializes in domestic charter operations. PAS operates aircraft such as the Dash 8 and CRJ-900 and has extensive experience handling governmental, VIP, and special-mission flights within Egypt.

At this stage, the charter is still only being explored as a possible option and has not been confirmed. A&K is continuing to review the timing, cost, aircraft options, and operational details before any final decision is made.

In the unlikely event that there is a significant military escalation in the region while guests are in Egypt, A&K would immediately activate its established safety protocols.

A&K’s teams on the ground monitor the situation daily through local authorities, tourism police, airport operations, and international channels. If there were any indication that travel could become difficult or unsafe, A&K would take action right away.

This could include coordinating early departures, adjusting the routing, arranging alternative flights, or making itinerary changes if needed. Egypt’s major airports, particularly Cairo, are well-equipped and have historically remained operational during regional tensions, serving as an important transit point for travelers.

Your wellbeing always comes first, and if evacuation or itinerary changes were ever required, the team would manage all logistics and guide guests every step of the way.

There is currently no curfew in place in Egypt.

In April, the Egyptian government temporarily introduced measures aimed at reducing fuel consumption, which initially required some non-essential businesses to close earlier in the evening. These measures were later adjusted, and qualifying businesses are now required to close at 11:00 PM throughout the week.

It is important to note that these measures do not apply to hotels, supermarkets, pharmacies, or tourist establishments, including restaurants and venues along the Nile. As such, our guests remain fully unaffected, and daily tourism operations continue as normal.

Regarding alcohol service, it remains available at licensed hotels, tourist establishments, and restaurants, with no disruption.

From A&K’s perspective, Globus’ decision to cancel certain departures appears to be tied to their own operational structure and regional program dependencies, and does not reflect a change in the safety assessment specific to Egypt.

A&K operates independently, with its own dedicated team and infrastructure based in Cairo. At this time, A&K continues to view Egypt as safe and fully operational for travel.

A&K’s Egypt offers are part of standard promotional initiatives and are not connected to safety or operational concerns.

Egypt remains a fully supported and active destination for A&K, and promotional offers are a normal part of the travel business. These promotions may be used for a variety of reasons, including seasonal demand, availability, or general marketing, but they should not be interpreted as an indication that Egypt is unsafe or that A&K is reducing operations in the destination.

Yes. Randy met with Medhat Mourad, Director of Tourism for A&K’s Cairo office, three different times while attending the A&K Top 100 event in Chicago.

Medhat reassured Randy that Egypt is operating fully and safely. He also shared that A&K has not experienced many cancellations, and the cancellations they have received were generally due to personal or life circumstances, not safety concerns.

Randy and Medhat reviewed our program in depth, including the internal flight logistics and charter options. We are still waiting for the final charter costing before sharing details with the group, but if the pricing is reasonable, this option would significantly improve the timing and make the internal Egypt flights much easier and less of a hassle compared with the commercial EgyptAir option.

We completely understand that travel decisions are personal, and each guest needs to make the decision that feels right for them.

At this time, the program remains scheduled to operate, and A&K has confirmed that Egypt is fully operational for tourism. If a guest chooses not to travel, the standard cancellation terms for the tour would apply.
